Green Grass and Dew

Ah, in the silence of the night
as spectral moon is round and bright,
I wake  to hear a linnet cry,
beneath the still and star-filled sky.

But in the broader light of day,
I pass my pretty flowers' display ;
green grass is soft beneath my feet.
I love the birds, their soft tweet-tweet.

Now in the stillness of my heart,
there is a song at morning's start,
which now I  bubble out to you,
who loves green grass and dayspring dew.

Dear Aggie,

This is indeed lovely and soft.

Trouble is, I know a wicked poet who loves to spoof, and whose eye this has caught.

His mind wandered when he read your title, and saw it as

GREEN GRASS AND YOU.

Check out the poem that resulted, unless you are likely to be mortally offended ....

Love
Alan
