A Poet’s Nose
A poet’s nose sniffs everywhere in search of inspiration’s lair, directs its eye and list’ning ear to where prosaic writers fear a path to make, beyond “Beware!”
Pinocchio, that wooden heir, could never grasp the poet’s flair; with lies he’d tried to engineer a poet’s nose.
A cricket’s click could not compare with beating heart and soulful stare that make a bard a pioneer; our puppet-boy will long revere a poet’s nose.
