As morning's perfection introduces hope for the day,
foreboding evil lurks in the wings.
Unaffected, they forge through
steadily embracing adventure of flight,
gliding forcefully;
ghostly terror unfolds.

Within cherished seconds;
symbolization of Red, White, and Blue
explodes a profusion of oranges and reds,
while life's evanescent fragments scatter
against a crisp panorama-
fire bursting bright.

Surreal horror unfolds, as
searing buildings slowly collapse,
smoky rubble of destruction
gently cascades down,
                                down,

                                         down...

Billowing haze engulfs the city
revealing a haunting, raven cloud;
the Melting Pot transforms into
imposing chaos.

Days pass, bewildered divulgence of ghostly reality
envelops helpless hearts as
quiet spectators observe
hellish images scorching distressed brains,
unraveling demonic atrocities.

Digesting unpredictable horror
layered with insurmountable pain;
with inconceivable tragedy
eventuating our world,
evil boldly confessing truth.

Void of fathomable words to conceptualize cold calculated abhorrence,
troubled hearts grasp numbing anesthetics
leaving desperation,
drawn from utter unacceptance.

Forever in our hearts and memories....

QUOTE (Cleo_Serapis @ Sep. 11 2003, 18:25)
Lindi.

Your words have touched a place deep in my memory, and rekindled a feeling of deep sadness and loss.

There is something in your description here that rings loudly (although the subject is horrific) - it IS our life and is very REAL.

I am proud of your thoughtful words and touched deeply.

Thank you for sharing and God Bless.

Lori

Hey Lori~

How are you doing? TGIF!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks, for the nice words. Do you remember when I wrote this a couple of days after the horror, and you urged me to contact Ricky's Place? (it was on that site for months after) Wow, seems like so long ago, yet it was almost yesterday. devil.gif

Any way, I appreciate you commenting and the fact that this piece touched you.

Have a wonderful weekend, Cleo. dance.gif  dance.gif  dance.gif
