Hi everyone - I thought I'd pop in and say g'day at the invitation of arnfinn.

I am a writer of Australian Bush Poetry, as well as free verse, haiku and prose. I also do photographic restorations on line and like to illustrate my poetry where possible. I have just released my first Ebook through Booktango called Aussie Tails and Aussie Males and one or two other things.

You can find out a bit more about me if interested via my blog site

http://scribblybarkpoetry.blogspot.com.au/

the little dog you see there is one of my girls, her name is Ellyssa and she is a little Staffy and is a rescued dog my other girl Mahalia is also a rescued dog and is a Border Collie - animals are my passion and poetry follows pretty close behind.

I look forward to meeting up with some new friends on this site and being inspired by your poetry, and hope you will like mine

Cheers

Maureen

Dear Maureen:

What a joy to have you hop aboard our newly recovering vehicle. I'm going to assume that John (Arnfin) invited you here, since he has already introduced us to a couple of pieces of his bush poetry, which you'll find in the same forum where you posted today. I haven't read there yet, but am looking forward to taking a little journey with you as soon as I finish leaving you a note... and I trust that you'll also visit a few of the others (including myself... hint, hint) in the same forum, and that it will encourage you to continue sharing with us and helping each of us in our journey, as we will seek to encourage you. I believe you'll find us a nice bunch of blokes... and whatever you call the women down and over there!

I think we've gotten a taste for South African bush poetry already, and I've found it extremely interesting, particularly since it introduces us to a whole new slice of life that those of us in the US have not experienced... and I know we'll benefit greatly from another slice from the Australian bush. I'm guessing that there are noted similarities and differences, and we'll be looking forward to your helping us to explore some of them.

I personally am looking forward to your sharing your haiku with us, since there has not been a whole lot of SERIOUS haiku here for some time, and Melinda just rejoined us yesterday, expressing her desire to share some haiku also. I dabble in it, but I'm by no means an experienced haiku writer, even though I've occasionally stumbled into something that has sparked interest among those who 'grasp' such things. I'm a slow learner in this area, and I'm very open to learning more... along with others. I'm sure that Larry will introduce himself and say the same thing very soon.

deLighting in the prospect of sharing with you, Daniel sun.gif

P.S. OOPS! I just noticed that you didn't post one of your poems yet, but you did comment on others' work. I will be on the lookout for yours when you do share with us... OR, it could be that I haven't looked far enough to find yours yet... just as I've only had the chance so far to peruse some of your VERY interesting pictures and information on your site. I'll be looking forward to reading more as I have the time.
