Greetings all,
Just wanted to pop in and apologise for the outage this morning. I've been looking through logs, stats, server hardware, but cannot seem to find a root cause for the outage. I found the system locked hard enough to have to hit the reset button to get it to reboot. So, I'm going to keep digging, but didn't want anyone to think that the issue went unnoticed or that it wasn't being thoroughly researched to figure out why so it doesn't happen again. Peter, it sounds like you are going in the right direction,,,ouch what a bug... I thought about using Raid with this new computer but I would have had to buy three more 1TB SATA hard drives to make it work out and I wasn't quite ready to do that yet. I have physical space for 9 hd's but only have 6 connections wierd, I wonder if you can 'Y' the data cable...probably not. I guess I could always go USB to HD's. Well thats down the road a ways yet as I still am only scratching the surface on what I have. What sort of input/output line do you use Peter, cable, DSL or T1 just curious.. I would love to have T1 but I think that it would be cost prohibative for me...I have heard rumors that they are putting in fiberoptic lines wonder how much faster they will be and how much wider a bandwidth they will have... take it easy and hope you get your bug.
