Listen Slower

In the South where the vowels are round
And gentility’s worth we expound
You’ll hear Mom ‘n ‘em say,
“Y’all come back, straight away!”
Northern ears don’t hear words, just a sound!

Some folks think that we talk with a drawl

I love the second limerick, what a great opening line! In the first limerick, I think you could do better with the two dimeter lines.
