This morning I received a personal message from the poetry director of poetry board that left me scratching my head. The message indicated that the director was not pleased that I had been posting on other boards and brought into question my loyalty to the directors board. It went on the say that the idea put a "bad taste in her mouth."
She went on to further suggest that the only reason I was doing it was to get nominations for the IPBC
Yes, I do post on several boards. My intention was to get back as much feedback as I possibly could. I wanted to see if the reviews were consistent. Not one to put all my eggs in one basket, I determined to spread myself around a tad. At the time, I was on one board, and had been for many months. I did not see any harm in joining another board.
I would be very interested in your views on this subject. Isn`t the idea of posting your work on line that of being read by more than 20 people?

Hi Linda,

A few further comments...

One should be able to post wherever they want, provided they follow the rules of those boards and are a respected member (goes without saying). Isn't the whole point to share ideas, refine our works and learn in the process?

One of IBPC's top placing poets is Yoly Calderon. Here are her results as of last summer:

Yoly Calderon-Horn 1 2 1 3
1st for The Writer's Block, Jun 2005: T.J.
2nd for The Versifier, Nov 2005: 4 Sevenlings
3rd for The Frugal Poet, Jan 2006: Blinking Lights
HM for Desert Moon, Feb 2006: Of a Journal Partially Smeared from a Summer Flood
HM for The Writer's Block, Aug 2006: The Smoking Room
HM for Desert Moon, Oct 2006: The Thing about this Theory
2nd for New Café, May 2007: The Sandwich Hour

Notice how many forums she has represented.

AS Merlin would say, "There tis"...

Collaboration feeds innovation. In the spirit of workshopping, please revisit those threads you've critiqued to see if the author has incorporated your ideas, or requests further feedback from you. In addition, reciprocate with those who've responded to you in kind.
