"Enchanted Haze"
The gloaming horizon threatens truculent weather as amethyst sherbet skies peek through blankets of misty gray.
As Merlin's purple cape drapes loosely upon his alabaster horse, beholden to his master, he trots proudly gaining pace.
Toward the foamy river’s edge, a hovering Snowy Owl flies into a crooked tree, her tremulous body collapses, splashing abruptly.
The horse halts and inside the wizard’s copious sack of magic, he mends the broken bird; everlastingly grateful, she never once attempts to abscond into the fog.

Hi Lindi, Grace, et al...
And I'm in Winchester where The Round Table is so I'm steeped in it too. (But I'd really prefer not to say in what I'm steeped).
Arthur, King of The Britons - he's supposed to re-appear if we're ever in trouble. Maybe he looks like Winnie?
Cheerio and well done again, Lindi!
J.

QUOTE (Cybele @ Oct. 10 2003, 01:50) Good Morning Lindi, All hail to the victor I live just a few miles from Glastonbury, the Isle of Avalon (supposedly) Lindi, so the subject of Merlin and Arthurian legend holds great interest for me. Your wonderful poem evokes perfect mind pictures of that era. and now we are in the' season of mists and mellow fruitfulness' I can almost see the scene you set on the Somerset levels. (Through the mist, that is!) Spooky stuff!! Love Grace Hello Grace~
Thank you for such wonderful praises, as well as sharing some of your world with me, including the Isle of Avalon. I am even more honored to think that I touched you in such a way. You really made my day, so thanks a bunch for your sweetness. Also, I love the creativity involved in your response to me. Party!!!!!:pharoah2
Blessings through the mist~
Lindi
