Hi Daniel, Your suggested change:
in darkness, new leaves spring green against the brown - fresh air from poison
loses the meaning of the haiku. The leaves breathe in Carbon Dioxide and breathe out Oxygen, thus giving life and maintaining balance in nature.
Perhaps:
in darkness, new leaves life and nature in balance fresh air from poison
Larry

Ah, Alan... again you're making STATEMENTS rather than documenting OBSERVATIONS, letting them speak for themselves. I know you'll keep on tryin'! green plants wither in the moist city air; no suspect insects Lightly, Daniel

Dear Daniel,
I have not answered this because I have no idea what you are referring to !
All I feel is that these haiku and senryu are not worth the toss, to much complexity and too many things to remember. I know you mean well, but this dog may well be too old.
Love Alan
