No Nina, knowing we are aware he is there, his 4 1/2 years silently waits for, usually Lynn, on of us to let him in for, as you say, cuddles.

Ethan is a happy child.

L3/4 Don, may I suggest you change these two around. You would then still have a rhyme scheme but ABAB instead of ABBA (Not the singers )

Your present line 3 would only need the first word altered to 'at'

All of your suggestions are excellent.  

Just Daniel's practice of showing paid off this time.  I confused myself and attempted to mentally exchanging line 2 with 3 instead of L3/4.  I thought, "Gad, what should the first word be?"

Your example showed the way.  

No, I think our children's children are our payback to our own children.  We spoil the little burgers to keep the pot hot.
