WHO DO WE APPRECIATE ?
Sometimes we poets need kicking up bum to get out cinquains, lims, sonnets and some other short forms which we know should please readers who show- er us with praise. By sucking their left thumb ....

If by sucking left thumbs you'd appraise the fine merits of short form and phrase; then we all, without fail, would have one soggy nail from which we could hang all our word plays.

It's from word plays that I'd often hang myself with my friends. Hunger pangs once longed for that praise; it's how I was raised without it... and finally I sprang.

Takes more than sucking yer thumb – perhaps a big bottle o’ rhumb to bring back the fold, the young ‘n the old, to join in this word playing scrumb!

GARRET HERE I COME
So finally I sprang, fully formed, to muse for no interest; uninformed was their bored response, t'was at best nonchalance; my fortunes for the worse were transformed

His fortunes with whoring transformed he rose from those evenings forlorn to write just for fun in dark or in sun for chuckles and jibes with hair shorn.

Herr Schorn, he was wise as an owl, a hoot, but his Limericks were fowl. When he sat in the sun he would think up a pun for his readers hoo-ed groan or else growl!

He who'd groan or give hoots to a pun is likely to work up his own and throw it back out... or sit there and pout that his brain has been fried from the fun.

If from fun your poor brain has been fried perhaps poltices should be applied to your neck or your brow for relief, then somehow you should leave all the punning aside.

A fella one day went out punning and spied a young lass, truly stunning! When he made an approach she took off like a roach – I believe that she never stopped running.

She stopped running but did not believe my intent was to meet, not concieve; so with nails, her attack scratched my face then my back... now we're married and both of us grieve

Did she mar you or marry you, Larry? Are her nails still so sharp? Does she harry you hourly these days? Yes, persistence pays, but at this rate she may you soon bury!

The berry that grows on a vine gets squished into exquisite wine! Two bottles per box, who cares about clocks on the bare skin with Sweet Adeline!

With sweet Adeline on her bear skin, we drank wine and ate hot coq-au-vin but you can't drink red wine when you're lying supine on her bear with her bare in the den.

Larry, Merlin and Addie at Denny's drinking wine, playing poker for pennies when they ran out of clothes and bearskins, repose there au naturel in their tennies.

Au naturel, out playing tennis with Adeline, Ella and Dennis, we worked up a sweat when along came Annette who admired my long ichthyornis.

It's sad the old bird's but a fossil. Annette seemed to think he was docile but only found bone when she was alone in its closet, the contents colossal.

The colossal contents were enclosed in Merlins sweaty shorts so he posed but Annette walked on by to the bench. You know why? Exercise made her tired so she dozed.

Extra size made her fall in repose; undertaker just left on her clothes 'cause he had just one day to put her away. The county arranged what they chose.
