Limerick, Poetic Form Exercise Options

If you're wiping your nose with a bone
then I wonder with what you'd have blown
that schnozola of yours;
I feel bad for the pores
on the skin of your face, Do you moan?

[Larry]

Does your face moan because of your skin
that has reddened from where you have been
in the sun for sometime;
you might try calamine
or a lotion which might help you grin.

[JustDaniel]

I could use some of that soothing goo
'cause I'm back from beach-going too
and my skin has a throb
that is really a prob
and my whole sleeping schedule's askew.


(in the middle of writing this, I had to put down the computer and go to sleep because I was so miserable!)

If I asked you your schedule for sleep
I would probably not get a peep
for I too like to doze
and the need for it grows
as I age and the years slowly creep.

[JustDaniel]

As I age, I'm becoming a creep;
when I used to be reading Bo Peep
now it's pirates and dwarfs
or an ogre who morphs
into darkness; grandchildren can't sleep.

[Larry]

If grandchildren can't sleep in the dark
then you can not go camp at a park
unless you're up all night
keeping the campfire bright
with some twigs and occasional bark.

[JustDaniel]

If he barks at occasional twigs
your old spaniel is not for the digs
of your grandson's scout camp...
and besides, it is damp
and the thing's filthy fur could grow sprigs!

[Larry]

Filthy fur growing sprigs in the spring
is the gift hibernation will bring
but a nice thorny bush
where they can rub their tush
combs it out where the leaves will soon cling.

[JustDaniel]

When your comb leaves the leaves in your hair
it is time to replace it; take care
that the new one has teeth
or you'll be out of breath
when the fall spreads itself through the air.

[Larry]

Spread yourself when you fall through the air
and you may slow the descent a hair
to deploy the chute.
Don’t have one? The point’s moot
but you may have some time for a prayer.

[JustDaniel]

You may have some time for a prayer
while you're riding the bus to the fair...
like for patience in line
or that you will not dine
on so much that you'll look like a pear.

[Larry]

If you’re looking to much like a pear
either find something else you can wear
or do set-ups until
stomachs look like you fill
them with six packs that you’ll want to share.

[JustDaniel]

If you exercise drinking six-packs,
your imbibing is likely to tax
your old heart far too much;
find some water to clutch
while you're working; no need to be lax.

[Larry]

There is need to relax while you work
if you’re done and not being a jerk
for some companies say
you’ll slack off anyway
while some others give that as a perk.

[JustDaniel]

If you perk up with coffee while others
slack off in a way that oft smothers
your will to do well,
maybe even excel,
you can hold out by doing your 'druthers.

[Larry]

Can you hold out on brothers their due
when you’re spreading largesse? Shame on you!
When you’re wiser you’ll see
all you have’s family
and that means more than what you construe.

[JustDaniel]

If you cannot construe how to screw
a board to the studs, how will you
ever get in your house
and protect your fine spouse
from weather and wind? Got a clue?

[Larry]

Get a clue from the weather and wind
on how much that you may have to spend
to be safe in a storm
keeping loved ones from harm
but with hurricanes, you can’t defend.

[JustDaniel]

If she tries to defend with her cane
she'd be careful, or she could be slain
'cause if he has a pistol
she'd best thrust the distal
straight into him so he'll feel pain!

[Larry]

Feeling pain, he would be in dire straits
but he knows a massage soon negates
all the soreness he feels
for a few meager bills
and he might even get a few dates.
