to the want ads
while looking for a job
requiring no experience;
wanted something with on-the-job training
and found one in tire industry
that serviced truck drivers;
their old ones were
re-plied

their old

until they passed away
but people never figured out
why some grandparents wouldn’t stop smiling
even though most were now single;
only people their age
understood how
they rolled

When power leads man toward arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the areas of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of his existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
John Fitzgerald Kennedy

truth is not ever tried,
expounding lies like confetti
richly colored from some shredded comic
like a parade held just for you;
your vote is all that’s real
offered to the

a small

on a long forest walk
made him realize he’s alone
and since no one was in the area,
flatulence was released, but dab

just sit around
avoiding anything

it is almost a foregone conclusion
that we will cause ourselves to be
kept down by depression
to abide in
