Pariah’s Soubriquet
The narrow road to the deep north was blocked by guardsmen and police. The looted stores became gardens of water which were stocked with death. Katrina’s harvest made new shores
within the city and the city’s streets. A fabled place, now empty of dear life was shadow country where no jazzy beats echoed. The passage of the storm left strife
along with broken bridges and bent roads lined by old shattered oaks and mossy limbs. They will come back and soon be fine abodes for all the birds, singing their morning hymns.
Forgetful man, the folly would be shame when the girl in the road has fated name.
