QUOTE (Keith Logan @ Oct 11 13, 18:39 ) Puppy Love Long live the days of adoration, of sights set above their station where the heart of each creature is its only teacher.
The reason I say that And why I say that is my dog's love, isn't a glove its my... cat It's easy to lose count when we write and the parameters are tight, but if we just keep plugging while constantly hugging the sides of the road we will have strode to the end to send this very Lightly, Daniel

A fool's not he who has missed the count but one who ignores what he knows. "Fool says in his heart, no God" while all that he know shouts or whispers, See Him! None is so blind as he who will not see

Sun... bakes earth. Summer rain... and plants rebirth. Autumn smells, sweet gain , sky bright through morning mist, jubilation of the dawn. Dew abounds, flowers all are kissed. Nears the time Jack Frost will have his fun.
It came about, bleakest winter fell, hoary world without taste or smell. Biting cold covers everything, yields to a happy spring. Hope abounds anew, nothing to do, only smile the while through.

DECK PAINT
Degrease your porch before you paint it even if you think there’s no grease ‘cause it’s certain you just don’t know what people’s feet have paced through or around, and who’d want to invite some noxious tint?

The nonets tightrope he aligned with no net
Through
his eye
each line’s a
neat edge but fell
on its left side. I
noticed most are lying
exactly centered within
triangularly structured shape.
Since starting the thread, all have complied.
This may not be a rule but some few
interesting people said I
get a more esthetic fit.
Have it centered with
tent or tree pattern
rows. If left, go
over, then
push me
east.

LARRY HEDGES HIS BETS
Let's agree re Larry's remarkably yammering poem: his accomplishment is everything he set out to do; delightful symmetrical shape, great summary of others' nonets, enlightening on what's expected, showering praise on his fellows; he shows characteristic insight with his writing such as we all need but few of us exhibit to our shame

Silence is Deafening
sad
in the
loss, a plea
echoes. What if
no one ever came
calling on us again
except to read. You and I,
in a sound-proofed habitation,
sweeping grey cobwebs from the ceiling.

QUOTE (JustDaniel @ Nov 27 03, 20:04 ) Well, it looks like no one is even reading in here, but I don't know where else to leave this message for everyone.... This is for y'all: My Thanksgiving Pendant’s For You \ / \ / \ / O Thanks for your ~ attention ~ shared so freely helping, critiquing. I’ve been intermittent; thus I’ve missed interaction that is our craft’s very heart-beat. I’ll yet make my pen dance for our fête. oxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo
© Daniel J Ricketts 27 Nov 2003 giving thanks for dear online friends I've truly missed all of you by not being able to offer critique while I've been trying to catch up with paperwork at my job. My slow reading and limited time just have made it impossible. Total knee replacement next Wednesday morning. Hope I'm not away too long. Love in Light, Daniel 8-) I find this ironically appropriate to re-post, since I've just come out of the hospital and rehab to prevent another total replacement of the same knee that was replaced TEN YEARS AGO next week. I had STAPH INFECTION in the same knee (having had a second 'revision' of the knee three years ago, replacing the bottom half of the joint, since it was moving inside the tibia), so it was carved open on the old scars and washed out with 9 liters of solution and stapled back up again. I was in rehab for six weeks receiving intravenous antibiotics every four hours for an hour. The side effect was non-existent 'blisters' I walked on with great pain on the bottom of my right foot and severe pain in the bottom of my Achilles tendon. Since I had a sudden spike in my liver enzymes, I could not take my arthritis medicine until last week. The previous replacement procedures had me up walking 'normally' in about six weeks. I'm only now able to walk a couple dozen yards without my walker. There is still pain in my right foot, but it is much lessened, and the swelling in my knee almost disappeared once I was able to start taking my Arthrotec last week. I'm THANKFUL !!! ... and I do hope to be able to start offering critique again, now that I can sit comfortably enough to use the computer again! delighting to share, Daniel

I THANK YOU TOO DANIEL
It
takes no
hour’s time to
augment or lend
new insight with a
kind word or suggestion.
Your assistance flows and I
observe how it’s best to critique
unskilled posts and help polish a pearl.
Happy Holidays to you and yours!

It was close to Christmas on my last post and now, it's close to Thanksgiving in a new year. Thought I'd bring this back to the top. I doubt anyone will see this except for Daniel and possibly Lori but "Happy Turkey" to all who want to wade through this one. Larry An inverse/obverse double acrostic nonet. Now that's a mouthful! A happy Thanksgiving to you all this season.
at home to attend my parents so-so passion for tofu yam pie and blobs like a turkey; “not a butterball”! Health food is their Thanksgiving meal and I believe, one hundred percent, no one will ask for seconds from such kinds of shaped paste. An alibi saves face when my allergies gag me. Tasting soy beans? I would rather waste Vermouth’s aura in a glass not to gain!

A reminder for those dear departed... gain knowledge from teachers who must still learn that those yet to come will need one to guide them through their poetry and prose so the house of cards which they build won't fly away with the first harsh words.

words fail me when I try to be clever so I'll not attempt to do more than merely counting beats until I reach eight on the second-to-last line; then I knew to write the final nine

lyrics are effectual line yourself, reeling off introspective concepts the critic seizes, to change the script and rewrite the thoughts where you revealed a small meadow or lea ensconced by bright flowers is evil.

vile efforts may create a thing that's nice but will you be there to give awards to them? just what kind of a person would you be to do such a thing? I'd think you'd have better things to do!

daybreaks water yard dew aids a yard the best before the blaze resumes. Sun will sear everything through the day and extra moisture is a kindness that is bestowed each year since the beginning of time from God.

God, Larry, how do you always do that? I don't have the time to figure out the words I would need for acrostic response that would make any sense; I hope you don't mind that I have not

no rivalry to speak of not out to rout writers into a group vying to dictate any set formula; love the challenge, it’s a kick researching new things I can do. You write very well, I’ll never scoff.

scoff away whenever you desire to; I will never mind many of those set rules with which poets bind themselves except of course those free - versers who've always done whatever they want

want cannot supersede what you may need and desire should not be construed as loving. emotions can be controlled when using your heart, not your head; if not, you’ll find both might get broken.
