Rhapsody

Cascading notes which rise and fall
the harpist plucks from silver strings
Expectancy then rules the hall.
Then suddenly a lone voice sings.
A rich contralto deep an strong,
a woman’s figure simply dressed.
The passion poured into her song
will leave the audience impressed
The Harpist plays, his daughter sings
old, well loved country melodies
They lift the listeners on wings
of intertwining harmonies.
The audience sit quietly
to whisper would be blasphemy.

Hi Piers,

This made me sigh with contentment. I enjoyed immensely. :)
