Greetings,

Looks like one of the two hard drives in the server has failed. Thankfully we have two identical copies of everything (the RAID mirror we set up when the new machine was installed) so there's no operational difference except for a little bit there's no automatic redundency in the gear. The sytem still copies itself off to the backup box every 12 hours so if the one drive that's still there fails we won't lose more than 12 hours of posts.

I've ordered a new drive and it will be here sometime tomorrow, 2/1/11 (hopefully before the big snowstorm..) and once it's here I'll start the process of rebuilding the RAID mirror (usually takes a couple of hours). It's a background, automated process that won't cause any outages, but the system may seem a little slow while all the data is copied over. I'll update this thread when I start the process and when it's over.

Sorry for any inconvenience,

I
