Welcome Home
It’s far too little and too late to soothe the soul or expiate the guilt of others long ago who cursed and spit a harsh hello at those whom death had spared its fate. No fine parades to celebrate or thank-you parties where they’d go in honor and be called “hero”. It’s far behind me now and I feel great but when it happens, I debate a curt response to let them know my inner thoughts. Their verbal blow brings back the memories I hate. It’s far too little and too late! ·······  ·······When power leads man toward arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the areas of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of his existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
