Tempus Fugit
Temptress fidgets o’er departed flights dreamt away, missing plain today; arrival at joys present may now be sooner than late.

or… may not be now for some time.

Daniel, Ahhhh, this one gets you thinking - and I think you have a good one here. I seem to dream things away from time to time.
Nicely done....I like.

QUOTE(Aphrodite @ Jan. 02 2004, 11:38) Hello Daniel~ I enjoyed your "Breakfast at Tiffany's" tanka. Such a classic movie and book, and nobody made the screen "shine" with elegance like Audrey Hepburn! Yes, I had never seen the movie till the day I wrote this! She was quite stunning... and a great collage of some empty dreamers I've met along my journey through life! Anyway, I love your "play on words" and in classic Daniel style, you have managed to bring forth a wonderful poem in brevity. Thanks, for sharing your tempting treat! Happy New Year, Daniel~ Lindi I'm truly honored by your visit, Lindi. :smart: [ Did Briana faithfully share my greetings to you? ] deLightedly, Daniel

E Thank you for your thoughtful visit and for sharing your impressions. Greatly appreciated.
Welcome to MM. I look forward to reading you soon. I'm presently intermittent because of my limitations sitting at the screen. Back to work a month and a half early from total knee replacement. Presently home for a nap, so only here briefly. Blessings in deLight, Daniel :sun:

Dear Daniel
So glad to hear that your recovery is weeks ahead of schedule !
Loved the poem too, just wish I had NOT read it while sitting in an airport lounge having completed but 1 part of a 4-part plane journey across half the world !
And Larry, I do believe you have just out-done the Master Daniel himself with that dreadful/deLightful word-play !
Love Alan

QUOTE(Zeus² @ Jan. 02 2004, 17:43) Daniel, you tread, how can I say it..so.... Holly Golightly. Larry Now you're going to have to explain to me about your friend Holly, Z. Is she also one of your conquests? I'm so inexperienced in such affairs of state, you know? Lightly, Daniel

[ I can understand that! I hope by now that you're safely arrived at home and uneventfully through security! ]

Love Alan Does that mean that half the time my word-play is dreadful, Alan?
... and what of the alternate ending to the poem that I posted?
Will no one comment on that?
seeking further Light, Daniel
