The Wait - Revision

Arise and go where ghosts appear
by cabins grey and time is dear,
for there you’ll see me standing near,
in glades made green by soldiers' tears.

In veils of black I stay beyond
the wattles crushed in battles gone
and here I’ll stay and shall go on
and wait for you, my son, my Sean.

The Wait

Arise and go where trunks are seared
where houses fell and death appeared,
for there you’ll see me standing near
in glades made bare by soldiers' fears.

In robes of black I stay beyond
the wattles crushed in battles gone
and here I’ll stay and shall go on.
I'll wait for you, my son, my Tom.
