Sorry I'm a little late responding to this.

I agree. the late British PM, Harold Wilson (Lord Wilson of Rivleaux) said:

"The main essentials of a successful prime minister are sleep and a sense of history."

I appreciate your quote probably related specifically to the poetic heritage but I think it applies to all walks of life.
