IBPC All time placers Options

Rus Bowden of the IBPC has kindly shared with us statistics of which forums and poets have won and placed when and how often. A year or so ago, he posted on one of The Critical Poet sites.

He is doing this again, at his own site in the following thread at Babilu. If any of you have a chance, please go in and, especially for your own forums, check to see that the figures are correct, and that the links to the poems are good. Almost all links are to About Poetry, which through the good work of Margy there, keeps 99% of the poems archived. Rus would love to see a similar archive at the IBPC site, such that we could click into each poem separately, and so that the IBPC site could in time have feature pages for Hall of Fame poets.

Rus writes: "The raw data I am sharing are a statistician's dream. For instance, if we were to assign a point value of 4 to each 1st place poem, 3 to each 2nd, 2 to each 3rd and 1 to each HM, and do the same when the poem gets so placed for POTY, we find that Laurie Byro has amassed 43 points, starting in June or 2002 through August 2008. So we can then set standards for a Hall of Fame. We could also set a time, say the 10th anniversary of IBPC upcoming I think sometime in 2010, or through the 2009 POTY judging, maybe a Poem of the Decade competition of all the POTY placers--we could set a time to begin a Hall of Fame with feature pages for poets--as we have them for judges, with interviews and all."
