Thanksgiving Struggle

home from gastric sleeve surgery two days
thankful that Tuesday night's pain had ended
and that prayer, patience and tenderness pays
son, daughters and grandchildren descended

trampoline chaos
exciting our Corgi-pom
Thanksgiving guests

two ounces clear liquid every three hours
savoring my daughters' whipping up feast
dog nudging for a scrap that he devours
turkey, ham and fixin’s… a taste at least?

small scoop of Jell-O
with endless sips of water
Thanksgiving dinner

Black Friday wife and daughters head to mall
son-in-law watching all eight of the kids
I tend the kitchen to keep the mess small
sneak a cube of cheese; diet on the skids

banana-stomach
needing three-week healing
Thanksgiving pig-head

Hi Daniel, I think you posted part of this on FB. Not the haibuns, of which I like the one below best.
You've been thru' a tough time and I'm glad you're gradually getting better. You'll be ok for Christmas.
Enjoy reading your news in the form of haibuns. Synthetic!

The Lord replied, my precious, precious child, I love you and I would never leave you. During your times of trial and suffering, when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you.

"There is no life higher than the grasstops
Or the hearts of sheep, and the wind
Pours by like destiny, bending
Everything in one direction."

Sylvia Plath, Crossing the Water, Wuthering Heights.
