Win-duhs

Awakened from somnambulant repose
by Siren’s strident call to look within
our windows to the world where each one goes
to see what has been missed. A mortal sin

would be ignoring hash-tags, tweets and text
sent by some friend whom we have never met.
Re-tweeting while we wait for what comes next,
is one more moment wasted but we get

our daily dose of news from who knows where.
Each moment of our lives is now exposed
because we feel there’s someone who will care
about each trivial event. We’re hosed

each month with bills for added fees and tax
so we can keep abreast of all the facts.

When power leads man toward arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the areas of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of his existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
John Fitzgerald Kennedy

Kindness is a seed sown by the gentlest hand, growing care's flowers.
