Wow... this is funny dramatic ! And great rhyme, too, in spite of the chaos. Perhaps hurricanes bring out the comedic poet in you.
At least you've given us a treat.  cloud9.gif

Thank you so much, Psyche...!

Humor is a very important commodity... sometimes a little bit of humor is what a person needs to get through the tough times.

The bad part, though, is that sometimes those around me don't 'get' what I think is so funny!

g,
at least you were able to write some poetry. "The Winds of Words
Come Howling at Your Door."
Glad nothing very serious and you and all OK.

yeah.. took a triple-crown also-ran and a hurricane named Frannie to get me inspired to write a poem!

We were fine, except for five and a half days without power or water or...    internet access

But.. we do have a house, and my husband, m'self, all the dogs and Paddy the Wonder Horse are all safe, and those are the things that matter.  Having hurricanes right in your own neighborhood, and knowing [b]actual human breathing beings[/] who have lost their home is sobering, and puts things in a whole different perspective.

I did learn a couple of things tho...
1.  If you don't bathe in five days, nobody messes with you at WalMart
2.  I don't think I want to be Amish

We rode out the storm....
She was bigger'n Texas,
with frogs, fish and handtools
flyin' round in her nexus!

She whined in the mornin
and howled through the evenin'.
All through the night
Vinyl sidin' kept heavin'.

Next morning at sunrise
the sun waren't shining.
The kids were all grumpy;
the dawgs was a-whining.

The couch and the covers
smelled moldy and musty.
I watched as my poor truck
got dented and rusty.

There ain't much to do
with no phone and no cable...
Next hurricane comes here,
I might leave -- if I'm able!
