Mosaic Musings...interactive poetry reviews _ Poetry Exhibition -> Plato's Pearls of Wisdom _ Snow

Snow

The tears, obstructed in their long descent
by zephyr’s kiss and held in chill embrace,
were shed within a storm which lightning rent
asunder to reveal her hidden face.

Amorphous, ever changing in a grief
which comes each year with sister’s slow demise,
she weeps to emulate each falling leaf.
The world now feigns a stark and barren guise

as seasons change. Life slows to start anew
but melancholic sadness comes our way
with every raindrop’s soft caress and dew
which sparkles on the graves of yesterday.

A winter’s dirge is sung and autumn’s proud
kaleidoscope’s interred with ermine shroud.

With all this heat, I thought a seasonal breath of chilly air might make a difference.

Wow, Larry, this sonnet fits our weather in Argentine Patagonia. So sorry you're sweltering in the heat.
Climate change evidently means extremes and records, not just a gradual heating (or cooling). Plus all sorts of natural catastrophes. We've had our share in Argentina.

I hope your lovely sonnet cools you off...LOL.

We're supposed to be in our skiing season, but even tho' the temps are extremely cold, we're having sunny days with blue skies. We get down to -10ºC but then the sun gives us a max. of around 8 or 10ºC. And no rainy season to precede the snow that never comes. Very bad for business and jobs.

The world is pretty much a mess, in all respects.

Must off to bed, by this time the heating doesn't seem enough.
Thanks for sharing,
