When my ill temper permits, I値l overlook
inclement weather to read a good book.
I値l close and bolt the door: my intention clear.
Then selecting a book from the table standing near,
I値l make a warm drink, before taking my ease.
Next I値l ensure my book will excite and please,
and not flog my brain with a tale low grade!
For I enjoy an exciting quantum cavalcade
of thrills through which to cleave my way,
finding it suits my needs for any inclement day!

Rhymer. December 9th, 2016.
Slowly catching up! Lol!

Words used in order: temper, overlook, weather,
bolt, table, flog, with, grade, quantum, cleave.

Hey, Denis, you're certainly catching up! I can't follow you... LOL. Love the lines I've pasted below, but it's all fun to read. And I certainly agree about picking a book that enthralls one. One of the delights life offers.

I still can't find where these challenges began. They're meant to be part of a thread of poems by several poets, but I can't make it out. Never mind, I'll return with more time. Trouble is, others miss the new answers, because one subscribes to threads at the top, right hand corner. Then the poems can even come in to one's smartphone, if one sets it correctly. Good breakfast time reading!

Thanks for sharing these amusing pieces,
best, Syl butterfly.gif

The Lord replied, my precious, precious child, I love you and I would never leave you. During your times of trial and suffering, when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you.

"There is no life higher than the grasstops
Or the hearts of sheep, and the wind
Pours by like destiny, bending
Everything in one direction."

Sylvia Plath, Crossing the Water, Wuthering Heights.

Hi Psyche, and thanks for commenting.

I delved into the Archives to find some of the Challenges I had missed. I guess I should have added the dates applicable? Sorry about that, but I was more interested in getting my brain back into action. That's tougher than you might think after being away for so long. I'm also experiencing a dollop of computer woes.

I was answering Larry with the 5,6, and 7 letters, then found out I was missing a letter in one of my replies. I always use Word Perfect, then I copy and paste, but for some unknown (as yet) reason, it did not copy correctly!. Smartly pointed out by Larry! Lol!

Having to use my Ctrl and scroll button to get a size of type I can work with can add a little more aggravation, and where my poetry is concerned, get my dear wife of many years - 62nd Anniversary on Monday - to check it Didn't bother to do so with the other stuff, but errors, omissions and spelling mistakes will happen.

First chance I've had today to access Mosaic as we had yet another dump of snow and I'm in charge of the shovelling! (4 hour stint at least!) Also the only worker! Lol!

Have a great day. Denis aka Rhymer. PS: Bear with me and have patience dear lady. Please!
