Possession by heartsong7 in Homer's Homilies
She paused atop the Pharaoh’s pyramid, imagining his world of long ago. While gazing on the desert-scape below, she wondered if its shifting sands still hid the secrets of another age, and did the gods of Pharaohs linger in the glow of gold-encased sarcophagi. Who’d know if kings could live again should gods so bid?
She trembles when her neck-hair stands on end and shivers as a sudden icy wind stirs-- swirling at her feet; her soul goes cold.
A flush of fear engulfs, then disappears. With mysteries entrenched five thousand years revealed in her, she’s welcomed to the fold.
