Your loving lips kiss my fair skinned
cheek hinting of Old Spice Cologne
and gentle fatherly affection, as my proud heart
plumps up with thankfulness. My father,
so brilliant, a brain like Einstein, and yet so
modest, never speaking down to anyone.
There are no less important souls in your mind, just people, God’s
supreme creation all one. Your broad smile
with reassuring words warm my cool blood, body
and soul, rejuvenating my desire for your
immeasurable wisdom in understanding life’s
purpose. In your laugh I find lively
substance, the devouring of a satisfying dinner
stuffing my empty belly, you fill my
yearning to comprehend infinite trust and humanity.
My Dad, I swim in your liquid eyes of
green, and calming light reflects bright to my
deepest core, oh how your rays shine through
me. Let us waltz dear one, your moves so Fred Astaire
like, I promise my feet will glide under you,
not over, while we get  “in the mood” for the Big Band
sound of Glen Miller.Your peppy steps keep me
spirited as envious onlookers gaze upon us. An interlude
progresses into song, your baritone voice sturdy
and satiny rich mingles with my harmonies to your
favorite melody, “My Way.” Simply wonderful, we
resound Sinatra into the sparkled ebony twilight...
In clouds of wishing I am dancing with you, and
shall once more in Heaven’s perpetuity.

Hello Gerry~

I appreciate you taking the time to read and comment so nicely on my poem.

I have written so many poems on the love and loss of my dear Father, and although mere words can never express the impact of longing, it surely helps! sun.gif  sun.gif  sun.gif  sun.gif

Also, I will always keep my Dad's memory alive as sadly, that is all I have now. :(

Blessings~

Hello Cathy~

Thank you kindly for taking the time to read and comment.
I have so many poems about my Dad, and although some are poignant, they can not express the true depth of how much I miss him. :(

Blessings~
Lindi
