A Passing Scene.

Overlooking placid Gardens of Water, close by,
The Folly, stood starkly against the darkening sky.
The Narrow Road to the Deep North, - a Bent Road,
was The Passage along which peasants, laden with heavy load,
travelled to Harvest rice in the paddies of the Shadow Country.
This yearly trek, where All The Birds Singing, they would see,
became A Fable of The City - The City where Dear Life lived in
The House of Tomorrow, owned by Tigerheart. Here her sin
would Come Back to haunt The Girl in the Road. A tale indeed,
in which I've included all the Fifteen titles I could ever need!

Titles in order used: Gardens of Water, The Folly, The Narrow Road to the Deep North, Bent Road, The Passage, Harvest, Shadow Country, All the Birds, Singing, A Fable, The City & The City, Dear Life, The House of Tomorrow, Tigerheart, Come Back, The Girl in the Road.

Quite a feat to include all fifteen titles and then include that fact in the close of your poem! LOL

Hi Daniel. Never quite sure quite how to approach these challenges. Always feel it leaves much to be desired should I use only five, or less than the fifteen offered! Guess I'm - as my dear wife often states - I'm a tad stubborn and find myself
determined - if possible - to use them all! Provided, of course, the end result possesses some logical cohesion. A story line or statement, that I feel fits. When I've the time and enthusiasm, love to tackle what's offered. Have a great day and thanks for your comment. Ciao Denis aka Rhymer.

Believe me, I know what you mean, Denis! I usually try to use ALL of them myself, but this one simply refused to fall together into any cohesive pattern in my mind, so I settled, I think, for nine of them. You'll have to check that out in my rictameter post.

Hi Daniel, and thanks a million, as I learned something new today with your “Rictameter”! To be honest, until I read yours - very well executed I say - I had never in all my years - far too many for my liking - come across or heard of such a beast! Now you have me intrigued and gung-ho to see what I can do in this field? It is intriguing inasmuch as it is very restrictive in its format - if Wikipedia is to be believed? Good on you for your attempt. Certainly when it is further restricted by the challenging restriction of only using the book titles offered. Great stuff and always a treat to see one or two members offering their responses. I’m hoping for more time to enjoy MM in the upcoming months! Take care and have a great day. Ciao Denis.
