Hi all
I am a new member - Stuart, living in NYC - writer of rhyming metered poetry - been writing some 12 years with a 5 year lapse in the middle - hoping to come out of the doldrums and begin writing again.
Nice to meet you all.

Hi there Michael,
WELCOME TO MM!
We offer honest, yet friendly feedback in our workshopping forums so I hope you'll find yourself at home here. There are many members here with different skill levels and technique, which makes MM more comfortable, diverse and challenging.
Please, wander our halls, take in our colorful 'tiles' and join in the fun. If you would be so kind, one of the first things we ask is to share a bit of your goals with us. What level of critique you would like to receive on your topics?
Each forum has its own 'forum participation rules' posted in a link at the top of the forums, so please check them out: Click HERE to read .
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask me or any of our staff (AMETHYST, Arnfinn, Eisa, JLY, ohsteve, Psyche and Imhotep).

You step into the Road, and if you don't keep your feet, there is no knowing where you might be swept off to." ~ J.R.R Tolkien, The Lord of the RingsCollaboration feeds innovation. In the spirit of workshopping, please revisit those threads you've critiqued to see if the author has incorporated your ideas, or requests further feedback from you. Hello Michael,
Welcome aboard the good ship MM. This is a fantastic place to submit your work for both critique and admiration. Sometimes there is more of one than the other but that is why we all came here to start with - learning and getting better at our chosen craft.
Hope to read some of your work soon.
Larry

Welcome to MM, Michael! I just took a peek at the R&F poem you posted about Japan. I see you're certainly a good poet, 5 years in the doldrums don't seem to have affected your style in the least.
Hope you enjoy your stay here. We're a little short of staff at the moment, so please don't worry if comments take a while to arrive. It's just a temporary situation.
All the best, Psyche (Sylvia)

Good morning Michael - this is a good, friendly place to meet, talk and exercise your poetic mind. You are very welcome to our sand pit, where we build castles, and tell tales of beauty, adventure and mystery. We look forward to reading more of your work. Leo

A late greeting, as I've been a bit scattered of late... and I'm confused over everyone's calling you Michael when you identified yourself as Stuart.... but then I'm always a bit slow to understand things.... but someone please fill me in on my ignorance, Daniel
