I've been hanging around and posting poems on the internet since the early 90s. I've been in and out of many poetry forums and kicked out of some. I now have 4 books and dozens of magazine and e-zine publications and am getting old. It's always good to see something fresh. I am glad to be here. I'll do my best to praise things I like and try to improve things I feel I can improve. Frankly, I don't like detailed critiques, word by word. Those minutiae are the province of the poet's taste and judgement. I don't enjoy getting them and I probably won't write them unless I see a real problem. Glad to be here.

Dear Don,
Welcome to MM, which I have for years now found to be a friendly place.
For some reason I think I know your name, from some other joint board perhaps ?
Love Alan

Hello Don and WELCOME TO MM!
I've been posting in poetry forums since late 2002 and find now that I've got MM to keep up with, I rarely venture out anymore, sadly. It's a lot of work to 'admin' a forum, lol, never mind moderating and writing/critiquing. But I do enjoy it! Hopefully the reasons you were banned from other sites won't come into play here or at other places in your future.
We offer honest, yet friendly feedback in our workshopping forums so I do hope you'll find yourself at home here. There are many members here with different skill levels and technique, which makes MM more comfortable, diverse and challenging if you become so inclined in your poetic journey.
There's plenty to delve into, so please, wander our halls, take in our colorful 'tiles' and join in the fun. What type of poetry do you enjoy writing most and are there certain forms you often write in? Do you have a particular goal with regard to your own writings and when you interact with other poets?
When you begin to post, each forum has its own 'forum participation rules' posted in a link at the top of the forums, so please be so kind and read them over prior to posting. Our Mission Statment can be read here as well.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask me or any of our staff (AMETHYST, Arnfinn, Eisa, JLY, ohsteve, Psyche and Imhotep).

Number of downloads: 0Good morning Don - As you are an old hand at poetry groups, I won't bore you any further with the huggy, warm feeling, welcoming guff - you'll have seen it all before. But it is always good to see a new name on the screen. We are fairly serious about our poetry, but are not above some appalling jokes. As you are not interested in criticism, we will try to comment in general terms; but it is sometimes hard to remember who likes what. Fortunately, you look young enough, (from my end of the telescope) to sustain an accidental, but well meant crit without damage. For my part - I am here to learn - so helpful crits from a well seasoned writer are usually welcome. Check out the various sections - and make yourself at home. Leo

Hello Don, Greetings from a neighbor - Penticton BC. Well, in the same country anyway. I don't do critique anymore either, after years of doing so. It's still a valuable tool, and there are many who participate. That's also the reason I don't post in workshops much, since I don't give I don't wish to receive. Unfortunately, there isn't much activity in the non-crit forums, and without traffic, there's little enthusiasm to post. Only recently have I gone downstream in the challenge forum, and a few of my efforts are available there.
Your name is familiar from other sites. I'm not certain we've crossed pens before, but I have seen you. I'm also the Rooster and Chanticleer on yuku boards.
Let's have some Floodipeg postings.
Merlin
