Fust, take a han'ful of pre-digested nouns,
twist them into unusual shapes an' plant them firmly on th' page.
Foller this hyar wif sin'-song wo'ds thet juntly caress
etch curve an' vowel an' brin' them all t'life.

Add t'this a tingi of colo',
a scrap of sentimentality
o' a hidden meanin' an' stir them until fine mixed,
cuss it all t' tarnation.

Served hot o' cold,
it will last fo'evah if fine done.

(Judy with a little help from the dialect machine)

This is translated:

Word Soup...

First, take a handful of pre-digested
nouns, twist them into unusual shapes
and plant them firmly on the page.

Follow this with sing-song words that
gently caress each curve and vowel
and bring them all to life.

Add to this a tinge of color, a scrap of
sentimentality or a hidden meaning
and stir them until well mixed.

Served hot or cold, it will last forever
if well done.

Hi Judi,

Very pleasing Judi. Somehow, I distrust the online dialect software. Not 'nough variety, but then its free tain't it?

Two Cajuns meet,
one says, "Gator,"
and tother answers, "Snake."
Now they know
tothers name ifin
meetin' up agin.

That machine is so unique... Have you put one of your poems into it? Pick one not too long like I did...I could not wait to see what the tranlator did to it...try it~ Judy
