What is the Member log-in default in hours before the system will auto-log me off?

I have set the length of session log-in time to 8 hours. I would suggest if you plan to exit the site for a time, that you click the log-out hyperlink up at the top of the page near your control panel hyperlink. This will benefit you so the next time you log in, you have to re-enter your name and password and the 8 hour clock starts over again.

If you just close your browser without logging out, the site thinks you are still active. Once the 8 hour window has passed, it will log you off. I know from personal experience this can be a BUMMER if you are in the middle of a long post/reply and lose track of time. There's nothing more frustrating than hitting the post reply button and getting the message, re log in.... SO, this is an FAQ to use good judgement.... :wink.gif:  cool.gif

Hello!  troy.gif

After reviewing the *open board sessions this morning, several members seem to be just 'closing' their internet browser instead of actually LOGGING OUT when exiting Mosaic Musings.

This can cause issues if too many sessions remain open for any one user.

As a result, I have re-set the LOG IN time default to TWO HOURS instead of the EIGHT that we had previously. Please be cognizant of your log-in times and remember to LOG OUT when exiting MM to avoid log IN issues with cookie settings and IE confusion.

Thanks in advance!

*Open - indicates how many open sessions a member has currently. Their ID indicates sessions were not closed by logging out. When you return to MM, a new session is started without having you re-log in, but the old session remains for the remainder of the former 8 hour window. We have changed this parameter to 2 hours.
