Mother’s Side
An autumn’s blush lay moldering on biers aflame with crimson tongues, whose embers fade until their russet ruin disappears beneath the ermine mantles winter made.
They’ve loosed the clutching hands which gave them life and made their way into some place to find that no one cares. Alone, though crowds are rife, they show their colors to a world that’s blind.
Much like a child, whose knowledge far exceeds those who would teach. That lonely journey starts with letting go and spreading wings. This leads them down the path of their demise. Brave hearts,
there is no place as safe as mother’s side and few know if you lived or how you died.

Hi Larry!
I enjoyed reading your heartfelt Sonnet. Love the metaphor; inception/new beginnings and how you tied it into the purity and richness of the Christmas Season!
Merry Christmas!

Hi Lori & Lindi,
Thanks for visiting this entry into the Holiday Classics. I'm glad you both enjoyed it and happier still that you caught the inferences I intended. I know they say that second place is just the first looser but one never looses if people appreciate the offering.
Larry
