Fear not Will, thy reputation is safe,
the plagiarist usurper of thy style, is naif.
Shame on him who’d tarnish thy name
or attempt to don thy mantle of fame.
Though he might emulate thy stamp,
he shall find no honour in my camp,
nor haunt hallowed halls of literary esteem.
His words, naught but an idiot’s dream,
would be an infantile and feeble attempt,
towards which I’d express contempt.
His travesty, an ill mannered parody,
would pale in your radiance, that’s plain to see.
Devoted Disciples would be dismayed
should works of another, be displayed
or brashly considered equal to thine!
Such dross shall be seen as swill to swine!
Your talent, merits all due praise indeed,
from all who seek perfection to read.
Your justified inclusion in the literary band
places you upon a pedestal. You stand
inviolate, the Master’s seat is yours alone,
for the wordy gift, was given you to own,
and defies those who’d imitate your ability
in hopes to match your unique versatility.
Though many try, they are but lesser men,
and I doubt we shall ever see your likes again.
Though thy pen has for long, been at rest,
for four hundred years thou hast been the best
Perfection was thine, then and ever shall so remain
peerless amongst all men! Long may ye reign!
