Granite steams,
waving it`s heat
at the river`s cooler realm.
Water laps white fans
around the shadow
of a dead swan;
a crumpled wimple
like a broken stern.
A mink nudges
her sour meat
toward shore.
Bass jump,
preoccupied
with fish flies.
