Mosaic Musings...interactive poetry reviews _ Fixed Form and Rhyming Poetry for Critique -> Herme's Homilies _ Win-duhs

Win-duhs

Awakened from somnambulant repose
by Siren’s strident call to look within
our windows to the world where each one goes
to see what has been missed. A mortal sin

would be ignoring hash-tags, tweets and text
sent by some friend whom we have never met.
Re-tweeting while we wait for what comes next,
is one more moment wasted but we get

our daily dose of news from who knows where.
Each moment of our lives is now exposed
because we feel there’s someone who will care
about each trivial event. We’re hosed

each month with bills for added fees and tax
so we can keep abreast of all the facts.

Larry,
flawless in form and well-thought-through, your sonnet is worthy of the description "Satire." Liked, pinkpanther.gif

Another flawless sonnet from you, Larry.

How many sonnets have you written now - I'm quite envious?

Greetings, Larry

another faultless sonnet form with some interesting enjambement, particularly between stanzas.

Does this describe the activity you've been involved in that leaves you with no time to respond to the above comments of your fellow-writers? LOL

Hey Daniel,

Glad you appreciate the enjambment. This was a difficult piece in that I had to include a lot of the “current” technology. We are quickly becoming “lab monkeys” punching the right buttons for our rewards.

This is not what keeps me so busy that I can’t reply to responses from my fellow writers. My wife and I have a craft business which takes most of my “spare” time. That is why most of my posting is done late at night when she goes to bed. I try to keep peace in the family and wouldn’t have much of that if I were to stay on MM all the time. Besides, I’m not used to all this activity we are having.

Hi Eira, thank you for the enjoyment you give me for all the praise you send my way. In answer to your question, I’ve written over 100 sonnets and a lot of them are in my “Showcase” on this site.

Hello Ali, thanks for reading and commenting on my little piece of satirical humor. I have to laugh at all the things our technology has brought or I will, most certainly cry!

Wow, Larry!

I knew you were crafty, but I didn't know about your minding your own business... Is that the right way to put it?

... and if I may say so, I think I've written about 400 sonnets, and I think about a hundred of them are response sonnets, like I just posted for yours.

delighting in all the activity here, along with you, Daniel sun.gif
