String Theory

A musician named Oren returned
from a trek through the hills when he learned
that his violin shop
was in flames to the top.
Seems while Oren had roamed, fiddles burned.

This is a delight, Larry.

Dunno about the last line, i seemed to stumble. Though, I'm not the best reader of meter.

No doubt, Ron or Alan will drop in for a look.

Regards,

John.

Hi John,

Thanks for the visit and the read. Glad you liked it, even with the awful group of double-entrendes, but I just love to hear people groan at puns; even bad ones.

I don't know what your 55335 pertains to but if you mean feet, you have a few toes too many in your count. The syl count is 99669, or IXIXVIVIIX if you are Italian.

The last line is a punch line. Oren's tragedy, the reader's comedy.

Hi Alice & Altay,

Thanks for the visit and the read. I hope you both caught the numerous plays on words in my limerick. The idea for it came from the "historical fact?" that:

Nero fiddled while Rome burned.

Yeah, I know; loses something in the explanation but I enjoy and employ convolution when I think it's necessary for a subtle chuckle or a groan.

Larry

Just out of curiosity Altay, from where did you derive your MM pen name? I was extremely proficient when I was a child in what was then known as "pig latin". Your pen name in pig latin means "Tall" when translated. Again, just curious!

Larry, since you seem to like puns, do you like spoonerisms? Igpay atinlay ? LOLay...
