Embalmed in every funeral mass,
through sounding trumpets,
life's lessons of meaningful encouragement
gracefully remind,
and still,
I sit naked and wonder~
is there more?…..

Through heartfelt tears; some
guilt-ridden, expressions bleed down
stained glass windows, cut of faithful
prayer and quietly~
universal bondage unravels for an hour,
and half-clothed, I wonder~
is there more?

After pauses of enlightenment,
my soulful center
opens up to revelations,
and with serene and hopeful
anticipation,
I believe that Heaven awaits me.

Ezekiel 16
I made you grow like a plant of the field. You grew up and developed and became the most beautiful of jewels. Your breasts were formed and your hair grew, you who were naked and bare.

Wow Aphrodite!  :sun:

I sit here in awe of this enlightenment you've bestowed us with here is this poignant piece.  :pharoah2

A clever use of metaphor with a deep meaning just under its surface.

Thanks for sharing and adding a tile in style!

Hello Lori~

Thanks, for your glowing praise. Bobby and I have gone to three wake/funeral masses this summer. As I sat in the church this past Saturday and heard the mass for my sister-in-law's Father, the first line came to mind.
In the quiet, I am glad everyday that I have belief in something greater than any of us.
For if I didn't, I would surely die lonely and completely empty.
Still, there is nothing happy about losing loved-ones for those of us left to bear such burden. But, there is nothing we can do about it either, just keep the faith, I guess. blush21.gif
