This is an open note all my friends here at MM. To all those who have helped me so much with my work. Although as you all know I have not submitted in quite a while. I really wanted to share why I have been awol. I have by no means given up on my writing. 7 weeks Ago I was diagnosed with Stage 3 Emphysema. I am only 48 and have never been a heavy smoker. It has taken me many weeks of reflection and coming to terms with my diagnosis. My writing is my outlet so i will be back soon. Thinking about coming back here has really helped keep me focused. I will see you guys soon. Melody

Oh boy Melody. So sorry to hear of your news! Never give up or give in. Write, write, write if you are able - it can bring comfort to be able to express yourself and your feelings as you cope. I wish you all the best. ~Lori
