To go to the last post made using the View New Posts search - just click on the 'Last post by:' link located in the column heading: LAST ACTION in your list.

For example, I can see that Cathy last posted in the Topic Title: Midnight Odyssey ~ Revised, in the forum: Herme's Homilies and the Last Action is: Today, 07:16 AM (my board time). All I need to do to get to the last post in that topic is to click on the "Last Post By" link right there (not her name though).

OR

click on the little box to the left of the Topic Title in the Topic Title column. Note: Once you have read it, you will not see the box again for that particular topic.

On another note:

If you are in a forum, i.e. Herme's Homilies, whenever there is a new reply to a topic, you will see a little box to the left of the Topic Title there as well. If you click on that box it will bring you to that post in the topic.

The same is true on the index page, that little box to the left of the last post date field in the LAST POST INFO box will bring you to the 'last post' made in that category of forums.
