Dear Poetry Aficionados,
Poetry & Poets in Rags blog This past week end was 11/11/11, Veterans Day, Armistice Day, or Remembrance Day, depending on what country you're in. The last three articles in our News at Eleven section are about war poets and veterans John Gillespie Magee, John McCrae, and Wilfred Owen on our Back Page. These are preceded by an article about Banjo Paterson and his role during WWI. In our Great Regulars Section, we link to a poem by Carol Ann Duffy for the occasion, and Alison Flood brings us revealing findings about war poet Siegfried Sassoon. We have many other poets and poetry topics covered this week. The one we begin with is the publication of a book of Liu Xiaobo's writings, with a poem he wrote for his wife, Liu Xia, from prison.
