Erotica (Note: this one had my easy-to-laugh bride of 45 years in stitches)

How shall I greet her this morning?
See? Here is dawn, reaching out to us.
Naughty Eros! Do not let your rosy fingers
linger all-too-long upon my lady’s lovely
form; I am a jealous lover.

She is awake; how do I approach her?
One moment I can be as gentle as May’s
caressing zephyrs--gently kissing her throat
and lips—but then I turn into coarse
Vulcan--demanding; forceful, yet
groveling at my Aphrodite’s feet. Oh, she
will resist me--for the briefest moment.

Hi Jerry - I'm glad this had your wife in stitches. It has certainly brought a smile to my face and lightened my mood. This is amazing - very cleverly written.

I love the way you have included the Greek gods - works very well.

I cannot nit this at all, just admire your skill and humour

Keep them coming, Jerry!

Thanks for your kind words, Snow;
yeah, whenever she sees that silly smile on my face as I type away, oh, she knows there's some silliness forthcoming. Not to forget those crazy gods; they keep me laughing. Your comment pleases me without end. Thanks again, biggrin.gif

Hello Jerry

Loved it. And love the fact that your bride still laughs!

Hi Bev;
it's good to see you again, and I'm glad you read this sonnet from a "youthful" . . . 79-year old codger. Therefore alone "she" laughs her head off at my nonsense. Thank you, Bev. charliebrown.gif
