Dear Poetry Aficionados,
Poetry & Poets in Rags blog Our headlining news this week is the announcement that poet Tomas Tranströmer has won the Nobel Prize in Literature 2011. Our Great Regulars have this covered tremendously (which reflects why they're called Great Regulars). After perusing those first articles in our News at Eleven section, which include a review of his "Tomas Transtromer: New Collected Poems" and some of his poems as well, scroll down to read the coverage by Sarah Crown, Alison Flood, John Freeman, Hillel Italie, David Orr, and the New Yorker. But be sure to make it back to that first section, where you will find that never have we had more Nobel, national and state laureates written about in the news as we have this week: Wislawa Szymborska, Liu Xiaobo, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, Leymah Gbowee, Tawakkul Karman, Andrew Motion, Carol Ann Duffy, Liz Lochhead, Gillian Clarke, Donald Hall, Sydney Lea, Robert Frost, and I might be missing someone.
