To all M-Mers, thank you for looking at the websites noted below. Should you choose to participate there, it does not require anyone to abandon other sites as is sometimes thought. There are more opportunities and other points of view to be seen, all for added interaction and possible learning.

The books featured below may be purchased directly, rather than via Amazon for less (I believe), if it interests you. The latter will lead you to poetry books. I'm well represented in the 2nd, "Collect the Day".

Poets Choice

Poets Collective

PoCo Pulications

One more, see below.
Keep on writing. You'll not see much of me, but I'm there.

Hey Merlin,

I tried the links to check out the poetry sites... These two lead to "Facebook" sign-in screens. Having chosen not to participate in Facebook, Twitter, etc. because I prefer to keep my business to myself and beside, I'm not that social. Thanks for the invite but due to the circumstances, I'll have to pass rather than join Facebook to view the sites.

Happy New Year

Larry

Thanks Larry,
Here's a non-facebook link straight to PoCo.

PoCo Publications

The book authors are not listed, but a direct email could give you further info, if required.

Hi Merlin!

Same as Larry, I clicked on your links and found that the first two lead to Facebook pages that we already know or have joined. They are not forums where one can learn how to write, in workshop fashion, as here at MOSAIC MUSINGS.

I like them, but I'm afraid that our poems are not entirely safe if they are on Facebook. I mean to say, each page is allowed 2000 members. That's a lot of people who can ask to join. Even if one decides to close down a page (I have one in Spanish), the information therein is kept by Facebook. It's a complicated process to retain one's personal work, especially if people share your poem or story with other friends. This is very frequent.

I'm not being disparaging in any way, in fact I joined but just don't have time to post. Nice group of people there, good poets and fun.

The third link leads to the website directly connected to the same administrators, mainly for publishing purposes...but I'm in a rush now, viewed it hastily and may be wrong.

Have a great 2016, Merlin!!

Hi Sylvia,

Thanks for the comment, and I agree with the Facebook evaluation. I do have my account, but I'm really not an active poster there. It's where I get my news and things like that, considering I don't waste my time with TV gawking. Suffice it to say I gawk at the monitor enough!

Poet's Collective is inactive due to limited participation. Here's one more link CLICK that features some poems, and the Tag menu on the right, scroll down, takes a reader to various places. There's a chance we may get things going again this year, time will tell.

I enjoy many of your Spanish postings, but due to laziness or whatever, my command of Spanish is still poor. Federico remains high on my list of poets and have his book Obras.

Hi Merlin,
I clicked on that link yesterday. In fact I read most of your poems and wish you'd post them at MM. They're very good. You're also so knowledgeable about poetry that I wonder why you insist you're hardly ever around. Do drop in to share your expertise with us.

Poet's Collective has no comments or crits at all. I would learn nothing there. Here at MM we get plenty of help of all kinds, the ToT sort. That's what makes it a friendly family type site.

I've no interest in merely showing my poems, there's a place to do that right here. It's a lonely place, for that very same reason. And I expect that's why P.C. is so slow. No inter-change.
Forget it!

BTW, many excellent adjustments were made by Lori here at MM, about a year or two ago, so as to navigate the site with ease. It was done in response to a couple of member's requests. Lori has always lent a friendly ear to helpful suggestions. This is an exquisite platform, incomparably superior to any we've seen. Imhotep puts loads of hard work into keeping the cogwheels running smoothly. Or bits...whatever!

The adequate place to make announcements and post links to other websites of interest is "Site Information". Scroll down under the challenges and you'll see it at once. For ages, members have posted helpful links and/or invitations in that place. Some links are so old that they don't lead you anywhere nowadays!

I suppose you mean Federico García Lorca? He's Spanish, BTW, not Argentine. Excellent.
Read Jorge Luis Borges. Wonderful story writer and incredible sonnets, a master!

Bye, Syl***

Hi Sylvia,
Yes, that was the Federico I meant. Not long ago there was an article explaining why he neglected to leave Spain when he could have done so easily. Most interesting. I'm familiar with the name Borges but would need to review again. Others who wrote in the Spanish language also have my interest, as Bécquer, Gabriel Mistral, Neruda (who I can do without).

PC was shut down some time ago. The main site was the critique site, but things fell to only a few active participants and the kindest thing was to close. I mention the site for the little books, inexpensive and worthwhile reading.

As far as me jumping in again, not at the moment. I was left "last man standing" too often and am somewhat gun-shy now. It's rather lonely, as you say, when you post and don't receive any feedback, which made me wonder if all had left because of me or what? It happened more than once so I'm content to stay in the background. And then it wasn't too long ago I did a bit more of commenting and a little critiquing, therefore I decided to post something for equal opportunity. My posting was up for 2 or 3 days, receiving ample hits (if they are to be believed) and not a single comment. Goose egg. I took the posting down so as not to waste broadband. That should tell the story.

I keep considering myself as a guest, and while I've made comments about extremely old pin-ups, if the management thinks they are relevant, then that's that.

From behind the curtain,

Merlin
