I have received word via Facebook of Steve's passing, in case you hadn't heard.

Merlin

--------------------------
Beyond
by: Ella Wheeler Wilcox (1850-1919)

It seemeth such a little way to me
Across to that strange country -- the Beyond;
And yet, not strange, for it has grown to be
The home of those of whom I am so fond,
They make it seem familiar and most dear,
As journeying friends bring distant regions near.

(a fragment)

Merlin, I've responded to this in the....

INTRODUCE YOURSELF [link]

section above. Since I'm not a Moderator here, I couldn't simply transfer your message there, so I've taken it upon myself simply to quote your words there.

I think THERE will be a better place to respond than here in the poetry section. I'll comment there, and I hope others will follow the above link there for their own sentiments.

With much appreciation, and hoping to know more, Daniel sun.gif

HI - thanks Eric and Daniel.

I was quite shocked when I received word yesterday, and posted an annoucement in the Neros' News (Site News) forum, to which Wally also added a lovely poem there.

Please view those posts here:

Steve was such a kind soul. He will be missed.

I posted where I thought to have greatest exposure, knowing this is not the correct place. Thanks for relaying the message, Daniel, and Lori, of course I expect the thread to be removed in due course.

Altho we are only acquainted via the cyber space, it is still a tragic event to lose another of our dwindling group.

Farewell, Steve.

M

HI - I want to keep your post here too because it makes sense as this one gets lots of exposure.
I am having troubles trying to find the obituary on the Daytondailynews site.
