Hi all.  sun.gif

What is BB Code?

BB Code is a quick and easy way to add effects or formatting to your posts.
It is used in a similar format to HTML tags which you may already be familiar with.
Below is a quick guide to the most common BB Code uses. Instead of the < > tags that are used in HTML, we use square brackets instead [ ].

An example can be found in our BB Code Help link when you click on New Topic, Add reply or Fast reply as follows:

This is the century gothic font from the 'new' font pull down menu above in size 6 font. B)

This is garamond in royal blue, size 3.
This is arial in orangered, size 4.
This is lucinda sans unicode in teal, size 4.
This is courier in crimson, size 5.
This is papyrus in burly wool, size 6.

As you can see, there are MANY text options.

Left aligned is the board default.

I hope you all say YES, WAY COOL - centering!

I like this one - right aligned!

IMPORTANT tips:
  • Make sure to always have the open [ ] BB code tag in FRONT of your text you desire to change.
  • Make sure you always have the CLOSE [/] BB code tag following your selected text change.
  • You can also highlight the entire text and then click on the BB Code button afterwards.
  • You can also put your cursor at the beginning of your desired text to change, then click the bb code to add. Go to the end of your desired text to change and click on the bb code again to close.
  • You can also just MANUALLY ADD the code to your text area(s) - you can determine which codes do what by simply mousing over the menu above the text area typing box labeled "BB Code Buttons". Mouse over the Bold and you'll find that the iB code tag for BOLD is [ b ] (with no space inbetween).
  • Have fun with these new font characteristics but use good judgment in critique forums.
  • Questions? Please ask here....
The following are the BB Code tags on MM:
[b] bold
[i] italic
[u] underline:
[s] strikethrough

Size dropdown
Indent
Spellcheck
[ list ] list bullets (no spaces in tag))
[code] code
