Mosaic Musings...interactive poetry reviews _ Weekly Challenges -> Acropolis _ Christmas Preparations.

Firstly I tap the barrel and pour me a beer,
then sing me a song of Christmas cheer.
Next I strive to set up the evergreen tree:
always a true sign of Christmas festivity.

After I have me a short afternoon nap,
a gift tied with bow and emerald wrap,
is added, with a bright holly berry one can see,
that awaits presentation to my wife, from me!

To an ornament tied with Christmas twine
we simmer a glass of mulled cinnamon wine
the scent of which invites visitors who call.
To leave boots, hat and scarf in the hall!.

Rhymer. December 28th, 2017.

Words used in order:
Tap, sing, bow, emerald, wrap, berry,
ornament, simmer, cinnamon, scent.

A little late. Been busy shovelling snow - day after day! Winter? Bah! Denis.

Hi Denis,

Better late than never when it comes to challenges. With Daniel in the hospital or recovery, you and I are about the only folks here.

I did enjoy your poem about Christmas preparations which, I'm sure, comes from a scenario happening each year about this time. Hope you had a nice Christmas and a great Boxing day too.

Larry

Thanks Daniel, your comment is much appreciated. My hope is that you are on the road to recovery now? May you enjoy a Prosperous and Healthy 2018. Larry had mentioned you were in hospital, which is no place to be any time, but around Christmas and the New Year, even less so. I'm finding it hard to stay on top of events lately, as we've been clobbered time and again with snow, and bitterly cold temperatures. Minus 25 C under sunny skies, but winds are brisk and I'm not about to challenge them! Shovelled and blew snow for hours again yesterday - the tenth time this winter - and my 'piles' of snow that is, are getting to be more like those generally seen at the end of Winter, not three weeks in!

Have to catch up on my correspondence or folks will think I've moved on to the next world! Are you home now? Been trying to find a programme(s) that can make reading and writing on the computer a tad easier. Have had some success inasmuch as I bought new monitors - Asus VA327H model 31.5 inches which are much better - dimensions are better suited to my failing eyesight, as they are about four inches deeper whilst keeping their width!

Best of luck and hope you're soon back to 100 Per Cent fitness. Ciao Denis.

Thank you for your good wishes, Denis. I've been home for some time now, and am well on the way to recovery, going to physical therapy three times each week. Hope to follow that up with 60-day exercise program in local facility. Particularly having trouble with stiff knees and pain in one shin, but mobility improving to a degree. Doesn't help that we're in the coldest winter on record for some time here in West Jersey... but it's NOTHING compared to your winter! Sheesh! I can't imagine it. It's going to be close to that in Minneapolis for the Super Bowl, but of course that's in a climate-controlled stadium. GO EAGLES!!!

So glad to read that you have found some relief for your eyes with the huge monitor. And I hope this finds you well. Keep writing!
