I seldom venture this far afield from Herman's Hideaway. Didn't know Odin dined here.

The Answer

We met again
down at the seashore where my body ambled
and my mind tagged along, preoccupied.
Perhaps my mistress

>> FATE <<

directed my feet like times before,
many times before,
and led me to him.

He was still there - - - how could he move?
Stone faced, stone hearted, my talisman
listened tacitly
to a young boy’s troubles
and later, a youth’s.

Today,
I wonder if I know
more or less than then.
I laid my burden down.

Breakers ceded sacred water
and cedars swayed.
Wind, susurrant wind,
answered.
